Even Kitty Cats Enjoy Energy Efficiency.

Bowtie, the family cat, wore her black and white tuxedo and sat on the back of the couch and watched the outside world pass by. Bowtie was not used to this spot, the shades were always cold and if they were opened it was too hot or cold for comfort. She hid from all the activity a few days before; strangers making loud frightening noises removing the portals of light in the house. She nervously emerged and was happy with the changes. Now the dark coverings were removed from the big window and it gave warmth and light. It was as refreshing and satisfying as the girl scratching under Bowtie's chin.

Bowtie did not know anything about glass and Low-E coatings that reflect heat back into the house. She did not know anything about foam filled insulated frames, triple glazing with Argon gas, or energy efficiency. She only knew she could see out this window and it was comfortable. The humans thought so too and they were happier. Bowtie dreamed about finding them a present later.

What is a Bay Window?

A family gathering.
What is a bay window? A bay window is a group of windows that extend out beyond the exterior wall. Generally it has a larger center fixed window with two side windows called flankers. That is the common style yet we have installed many different variations.

Bay windows can have a dramatic effect on the exterior appearance of a home creating an interesting focal point. Many folks though install a bay window in their dining or breakfast-nook, facing the rear of the house, to open up and give more light and depth to a room. I remember a lady who wanted more flat surface in her dining room when the kids and grand-kids came over for meals.

Sometimes we have to revisit the basics.

Ethics is a system of moral values that is applied in a consistent way to one’s personal, social, and business life. It is the process of making decisions. There are three systems of making ethical decisions: Utilitarianism, Egoism, and Kantian.
Utilitarianism is when the end result is important not the motivation or the means by which the end is achieved. In utilitarianism, managers try to identify the positive and negative end results of the action. If the positives outweigh the negatives, the decision is considered ethical.
Egoism is the tendency to be self centered, or to consider only oneself and one’s own interest.
Kantian ethics is act only on that maxim through which you can at the same time will that it should become universal law. The second foundation of Kantian ethics is never treat humanity as a me\ans, but always the same at the end.
